In response, G4 was able to give NBC the rights to air American Ninja Warrior, with a promise that G4 aired the episode first, since that was where the show originated. NBC didn’t have enough money at the time and needed to air another summer show (besides America’s Got Talent). Staring on this season, American Ninja Warrior is aired on NBC (along with G4 until the next season, before G4's defunction in 2014). 
Las Vegas national finals featured a replica of SASUKE's Mount Midoriyama course, with 4 stages in all. During region finals, the 15 competitors who completed the course (or made the furthest, in case of less than 15 competitors completed the course) in the fastest time would advance to Las Vegas national finals. During region qualifiers, the 30 competitors who completed the course (or made the furthest, in case of less than 30 competitors completed the course) in the fastest time would advance to region finals. Northwest region (held in Venice Beach),. Southwest region (held in Venice Beach),. Instead of just 1 region for qualifying round (held in Los Angeles/Venice Beach), there were 6 regions for qualifying round, held in 3 different cities (making the first time that qualifying round was held outside Los Angeles/Venice Beach). 
This season brought some major changes for the competition, compared to the past three American Ninja Warrior seasons: For this season, Matt Iseman returned as the host for his third season, while Jonny Moseley and Angela Sun replaced Jimmy Smith and Alison Haislip as the co-host and sideline reporter respectively. American Ninja Warrior 4 was the fourth season of American Ninja Warrior, which premiered on May 20th, 2012.
